Also knows as Palamede, or Palomides, was a Knight of the Round Table in Arthurian legend His father was King Esclabor, his brothers Safir and Segwarides also join the Round Table later on. He is introduced as a knight fighting when asked upon to compete for Iseult at a tournament in Ireland against a knight by the name of Tristan. In the end, Palamedes loses to please the princess. Tristan then spares his life but forbids him to bear any arms for a year and to ever try and hook up with the princess again. After her wedding, Palamedes rescues her servant, becomes a member of the Round Table, and is faced with a number of duels with Tristan, which eventually either end prior to a postponement or ended without a clear winner. Throughout their lives they share a love-hate relationship. Yet some stories reveal Palamedes background to be as followed: his father is a king of Babylon who is sent to Rome where he saves the life of the emperor. He then travels to Britian where he once again rescues and betrays King Pellinore. Many tales also have classified Palamedes as the hunter of the Questing Beast, which only the chosen can kill. However during the Grail Quest, he is released from his bindings, and with the help of two knights, Percival and Galahad, trap the beast in a lake where Palamedes slays it once and for all.
